American Buffalo Gold Coin

American Buffalo Gold CoinThe American Buffalo Gold Coin is one of the more recent offerings in the gold bullion market. Production began in 2006 by the United States Mint and the coin gained instant popularity. It is now among the most sought-after gold coin investments.

Inspired by the Canadian Maple’s 24k pureness, the US Mint created the American Buffalo Gold Coins to satisfy customers who prefer pure 0.9999 fine gold over the lower fineness of the American Eagle. Its owes its name to the American Bison found on the reverse side of the coin, accompanied on the front by a portrait of an Native American inspired by the design of the Indian Head Nickel. The coin is also adorned with mottos common to all US coins, both bullion and fiat varieties.

Like the Gold Canadian Maple, the American Buffalo is subject to scratches and blemishes due to its pure gold fineness, and must be cared for accordingly. However, this drawback has not prevented the Buffalo from being an instant hit and rapidly earning a respected place in investors’ hearts.
